Unburden has no login, no account system, no password. Your debts, balances, interest rates, and payoff plans are stored only on your device. There is nothing for us to delete on your behalf for that data.
A small set of other information may exist depending on how you've used Unburden:
None of these contain your raw financial data. The Burden Score is calculated from obfuscated ratios, not from your balances or debt names.
On the Android app, go to Settings → Clear All Data. This wipes your debts, spaces, payoff plans, settings, and any cached backups. The action is immediate and permanent.
Alternatively, uninstall the Unburden app from your device. Android clears all app-local storage when an app is uninstalled.
Open Unburden in your browser and go to Settings → Clear All Data. You can also clear your browser's site data for app.unburden.money manually:
unburden.money → Clear data.unburden.money → Remove.unburden.money → Remove. If you turned on cloud backup, Unburden writes an encrypted blob to your own Google Drive in the app-data folder. We can't access or delete it.
To remove it: open drive.google.com, go to Settings → Manage apps, find "Unburden", and click Options → Disconnect from Drive. You can also click Delete hidden app data to remove the encrypted backup itself.
If you joined the Unburden waitlist, email hello@unburden.money with the subject "Remove my waitlist email." We'll delete your address from our email system within 7 days and confirm when it's done.
If you purchased Pro through Stripe on the web, we keep a minimal purchase record (email, transaction ID, amount, date) in Stripe for tax and compliance reasons. Canadian tax rules require us to retain transaction records for 6 years.
To request deletion of the personally identifying parts of your record (your email), email hello@unburden.money with the subject "Delete my purchase record" and include the email address you used at checkout. We'll pseudonymize the record within 30 days while keeping the anonymous transaction log required by Canadian tax law.
If you purchased Pro through Google Play, Google holds your purchase record. To delete it, use Google's own data tools: takeout.google.com or myactivity.google.com.
If you accepted analytics cookies while using the Unburden website, FullStory may have recorded anonymized session replays. To remove them, email hello@unburden.money with the subject "Remove my session replays." Include the approximate date and time of your visit. We'll locate and delete your session within 7 days.
Unburden's telemetry pipeline uses a device hash that is not linked to you personally. If you want your device hash removed from our analytics, email hello@unburden.money with your approximate visit date and device platform (Android / iOS / web). We'll identify and delete the matching records.
For every email-based deletion request, we reply with a confirmation within 7 days. If you don't hear back, reply to your original email or send a new one.
For on-device deletions, you can verify that your data is gone by reopening Unburden. An empty debt list and a zero Burden Score confirm that nothing persists.
Under Canadian federal law (PIPEDA), California law (CCPA/CPRA), and EU law (GDPR), you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Unburden responds to all such requests within the timeframes required by the applicable law.
If you believe we haven't responded appropriately, you can complain to:
