Privacy Policy

    The short version: your financial data never leaves your device. We don't collect it, we don't store it, and we don't sell it. That's not a limitation of our product. It's the foundation of it.
  

What data Unburden stores

All financial data you enter into Unburden (debts, balances, interest rates, payment amounts, payoff plans) is stored locally on your device using your browser's built-in storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers.

Your debt details stay in your browser's local storage
Your payoff calculations run entirely client-side
No account creation is required to use Unburden
No bank linking, no Plaid, no financial data APIs

If you clear your browser data, your Unburden data is deleted permanently. We cannot recover it because we never had it.

Waitlist emails

If you join our pre-launch waitlist, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of notifying you when Unburden launches. Waitlist emails are stored in our email service provider and are not shared with third parties. You can request removal at any time by emailing hello@unburden.money.

Analytics (FullStory)

We use FullStory for session replay analytics to understand how people interact with our website. FullStory is only loaded if you explicitly accept cookies via the consent banner.

FullStory records anonymized session replays (clicks, scrolls, page navigation)
FullStory does not record keystrokes in form fields
FullStory does not have access to data stored in your browser's local storage
If you decline cookies, FullStory is never loaded and no session data is collected

Cookies

Unburden uses one cookie-related local storage key:

ub_cookie_consent — Records whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. This is stored in localStorage, not as a traditional cookie.

If you accept analytics cookies, FullStory may set its own cookies for session identification. If you decline, no third-party cookies are set.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data to anyone, for any reason
We don't run ads or use ad-tracking pixels
We don't use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel
We don't link to or integrate with your bank accounts
We don't require sign-up, login, or account creation
We don't store your financial data on our servers

Data location

Our website is hosted on Vercel (global CDN). When you visit unburden.money, your request is served by the nearest edge node. No personal data is stored server-side. Vercel's infrastructure privacy details: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

Children's privacy

Unburden is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and note what changed. Because Unburden is pre-launch, this policy may evolve as the product develops.
